*Diocesan News Last Thursday Charlie Murry and Sonia Roulston were made bishops at the Cathedral for the Coastal and Inland areas respectively. Charlie will be the Assistant bishop in our area and will visit on 1 July. Bishop Peter has made other changes as well. Arthur Copeman became Archdeacon of Newcastle. Allan Bate from Kincumber was installed as Canon for Evangelism. Rod Bower is now Archdeacon for Justice Ministries and Chaplaincy and no longer Archdeacon for the Central Coast. The Area Deaneries have been abolished. All issues are to be addressed to the Diocesan office.
*Clergy work condition changes. Diocesan Council has changed clergy conditions to a 40 hour 5 day a week basis. Clergy are available of course for emergencies at any time. Leave is also calculated now on 20 days per annum. The monthly rostered day off has been abolished. I will try and take Friday and Saturday as my days off. The reason for the changes are to improve clergy health and well being and avoid burn out.
