James 5:12-20:- This passage deals with the prayer of faith and gives some good theological basis and biblical warrant. For James contrasts those who frantically make oaths and bargain with God in difficulty with those who rely on God’s power and grace and turn to him in prayer and seek the support of the church family. My observation is that all to often “healing” in the name it and claim it approach is sadly often manipulative and quasi magical. It is not the approach that James contrasts it with which is the Prayer of Faith which reflects genuine discipleship.
