St James Creche

The crèche was set up in the area between the church and the hall and operates for the duration of the 9.30am service each Sunday. The crèche is staffed by volunteer parishioners who have completed the necessary Diocesan documentation to allow them to do so and aims to care for pre Sunday school aged children and allow their parents or carers to enjoy their worship without the interruptions and distractions attached to this age group. The group has use of the extensive play equipment owned by the parish and the children are closely supervised at all times. A welcome spin-off from this activity is that if there are only one or two children on a particular Sunday that will allow the volunteers involved that day to learn a little more about each other which, in turn, serves to strengthen the parish family ties.
