Kevin Wares is married to Kim and they have three adult children- Alison, Daniel and Christopher. He holds a Master of Ministry and a Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Counselling from Charles Sturt University and a Bachelor of Theology and Diploma of Arts through Moore College.
Kevin worked for the Department of Social Security (now known as Centrelink) before entering theological college. Following curacy he was a regular Army Chaplain with the paratroopers at Holsworthy Barracks and with the Armoured units in Darwin. In 2000 he returned to parish ministry and was Rector of Oberon in Bathurst Diocese then Mulgoa and Kensington in Sydney Diocese.
He loves to see people come to Christ and grow as disciples and is interested in helping churches develop their mission, vision and values into achievable and measurable goals. He feels compelled to joyfully preach Christ, who he has served since becoming a Christian at age seventeen at St Stephens Penrith.
