Rev Denis Kirkaldy

Denis is currently the acting minister at St James.

Denis trained at Moore Theological College and has ministered in the parishes of Mt. Druitt, Port Kembla, Annandale and Beecroft. He was Director of External Studies at Moore College and Executive Officer of the Sydney Anglican Education Commission. He has also been a History teacher. For 12 years he was a member of the General Synod Board of Ministry and Training. He has also been editor of the Australian Church Record and chaplain to the NSW Sheffield Shield team.

Since moving to the Central Coast he has enjoyed raising goats and chooks and works as a presenter on Todays Country 94.1. Married to Nancy, they have 7 adult children between them. As well as being locum at Wyong he also spent 18 months at locum at Tea Gardens.

Rev John West

He is an assistant minister at St James.

John trained at Moore College, and was an Assistant Minister at St George’s, Hurstville for two and a half years, Rector of Williamtown, Medowie and Mallabula for sixteen years, and Rector of Port Macquarie for seven years while also Missional Archdeacon in Grafton Diocese until retirement in 2016. He is presently locum at Wollombi two Sundays a month.

Married to Susan for 46 years until her death in May 2019 and has three married children and three and a half grandchildren. Received a Master of Arts in Theology through Morling College and wrote a book, “Exploring the Meaning of Life Through Great Themes in the Bible.”

Darren Cardwell

Family & Children's Minister

Darren Cardwell is married & has a daughter. He holds a Diploma and an Associate Degree in Ministry from Morling college.
Darren has been a children’s minister for the last 20 years where he has taught scripture in various public schools and oversaw and taught the children in Sunday school at various churches.
Darren has a heart to teach the scriptures to the children and youth and to see them come into a relationship with God through Jesus. And to see them become everything that God has created them to be, by living their lives based on the scriptures and having hope in the fact that God is with them every day as they live their lives for Him.
